I was wondering, what is the quickest way to find out how many actuations my 20d has?

If you've never reset the file number manually, just look at the number for the last shot you took. It'll likely be in the format "xxx-xxxx" with the last four being the number of actuations. The first three (folder number) will dictate if you should multiply or not. Basically, it works out to something like if it says, for example, "200-1000", that would mean 11,000 or so shots. Got me? It goes to 9,999 on the last four, and then the folder number will jump another hundred. for example, 199-9999 will be followed by 200-0001. At least that's how I think it works.
For 1-series cameras, you use CanCount. They say Canon is the only one that can give you a click count on non 1-series bodies.

Yes, unfortunatly we are not allowed to know the shutter actuation unless you track it yourself with not reseting the file numbering, i.e. set to continuous.
If you send your camera to canon service center they will be able to tell you the actual actuations number.
I have had some problems with keeping the file numbers because i often exchange cf cards with friends etc... i have written a small software to help me solve this prob you can find it at http://www.adidap.com/2006/10/29/canon-eos-batch-file-renamer/

Hmm... interesting, so I bought this 20d second hand and I am not thinking of selling it. I know the first question anyone is going to ask is how many actuations does it have? So I can not honestly answer that question for anyone.

If you bought it second hand, you have no idea how many clicks it has, because you have no idea how many times the previous owner reset it. Just go by the file number like I said, and that'll be as close as anyone outside Canon could get.

One program to find out the actuations of 1D and other brand pro bodies, is Photo Mechanic (http://www.camerabits.com/). The shutter actuation is tagged in the EXIF and since CanCount, unfortunately is no longer a freebie, you would be better off owning a copy of Photo Mechanic. PM is a dream form viewing and handling files, quick fast and easy to use.
