The carpet isn't very nice looking in this photograph. Just the red wall would have been good. Maybe set it on a table? but the light from the side could be interesting. Long shadows.. it's nice.

yeah i thought about cleaning up the carpet or setting it somewhere, but i liked the light and where it was... plus i decided to keep it messy since metal isn't something we necessarily associate with clean and nicely presented also you wouldn't find most of these instruments in a pretty photographic studio, so i chose to put it on the floor to give it a sense of environment. i wanted it to be this very metaphoric look at the passion of the music... the guitar representing metal and the red wall the representing passion and when you are passionate about something it becomes apart of your life... the reason for the title i gave it. if it were a plan simple background with one flat color then it'll just be a picture of a guitar against one flat color... since it's not about the guitar i didn't want to do it that way. maybe i should of plugged it into an amp or have the unplugged wire next to it or maybe some pages with notes n' lyrics to maybe help with what i was going for, i dunno. i should of given a description earlier to help everyone see what i see even if you disagree with me, but at least you would know what was going on in my head..

i think the photograph is more interesting in print form since i know most ppl would be viewing this through an LCD screen and my monitor at home is calibrated to my printers and the image is much darker than how it would appear on an LCD screen...

I dunno... to me, the carpet says "domesticity". If I were making the shot, and wanted the guitar in its element, I would have used a red wall in a garage or something with a concrete floor or something. In the house, it seems to be saying "goodbye, fun of my childhood, I'm now an adult and I've moved on."

LCDs can be calibrated, BTW. This looks great on mine. I used to calibrate my monitor to my printer but now it's calibrated for my lab.

yeah that's a great idea too. out in a garage. i kinda was thinking like a personal space... like where they would record or chill to write their music... but i like your idea just as much. i'll see about doing another series with that in mind.

yeah i know they can be... the ones at my school are... just my new laptop i'm having a hard time getting it just right.
