Today was the first day i took my strobes out for a shoot on location... however, i had nothing but problems from beginning to end :-( for whatever reason i could balance the strobes with the available light so the sky wouldn't be with white or black *although for this one i kinda liked it with the blown out sky*.... I must of taken a million meter readings and it was just hell lol so i ended up taking pictures of the sky and replacing the bg with it... but i'm having problems with where the sun was behind the one guy's arm... anyways... this is the one that I picked... i'm still waiting on what the band will pick :-/ they seem to like a lot of them despite the mistakes i saw that i made. easy $40 though :D lol since it was friends band and i needed to test those lights i gave them a super discount.

I like it, it has a lot of personality. You have a nice chunk of sensor dust right on the guy in reds armpit.

hey that's one cool photo! i like the attitude!

wrt your dilemma, i remember shooting outdoor once and it was already a bit dark but i wanted to see some color in the sky... what i did was shoot in slow shutter (preferrably with tripod)... when the flash fires, it will freeze your subject and your sensor will capture the colors in the background. If it's really too dark already, you can also put another light behind your models, aimed towards your background ... so your sensor can pick up whatever background your backlight hits on. hope this helps!

yeah i noticed that i was balancing wrong once i got home and worked on a few pictures lol but i'll make sure not to 4get next time. i'll try the strobe towards the sky next time also, see how that works out for me :-) thank you for the tip.
