This is one of my favorite shots. Rosco is a wonderful dog and his eyes show it. Let me know what you think!

This is MUCH better than the other puppy shot. I like this very much and the dog is beautiful. Is he a white pitbull??

Photog,

I take it that you used a little selective color work in PS. Very nice. I think it works really well with the subject.

Just a comment on the eyes: Since the eyes are more or less the focus of this, work to try and keep the catch light in the eye uniform or smaller than the distracting large 'glare' spot.

Not sure about what you have in the way of lighting, but a little practice and you will get the right result.

Oh, and I like the way it is lighted. Don't change that.

how do you get the color so good on the eyes when doing one of these "eyes color everything else B&W)

i have tried it, but it just looks fake for me when i do it :(

In case this dog-lover doesn't reply to you, here is my take. This image of the dog was obviously shot in color. the color of the eyes are unchanged from the original image.

Here is how I go about doing this technique.

First, desaturate, B&W, de-hue... do what ever it is you do to get rid of the color, but remember to keep tthe color space in RGB. (This means, don't choose grayscale).

Take your History Brush tool and select the location on your history bar you want to paint from. Select your brush that's not too hard and VOILA you have your color back in to the eyes.

Hope this helps.

This shot is gorgeous! how cute is that... the colouring is great and the look on his face is just classic...

I think it's a great shot just how it is... very soft... with light on one side and more shadow on the other. his face is soft enough to carry it... very cute!

PS - thanks Romano for detailing that way of colouring in so to speak... I've been doing it a different way (the long way of course!) and you've actually helped me out there... cheers for that!
