Focus was out a bit on this pic, it was the only thing that dissapointed me.
Then I found out they were in rutting season and could of turned and attacked. But for shots like that and getting that close to nature.. Its a risk well worth it.

Len Focus: 125mm

phwoar... how close were you chad? did you zoom in on him or were you standing this close? gees...

love the way that he's looking right at the camera... and the horns stand out really well... but i'm not keen on the branch in front of his nose...

honestly, the smallest of detail that i'm picking up on.. it's not like you can just duck back out there and take another one 'right-ee-oo then.. just tilt your head to the left a bit more... and move your horns down a bit.. yes.. yes that's it'

How good is it that you can get a shot of these fellas hey? we don't have them here, but i can't imagine it's too easy to get one in a shot?

Well this guy I was fairly close too, but it was in a man made forest also so the trees are tight together. I would estimate about 30 feet from him. Found out later froma friend they were in rutting season which means the are highly likely to turn and charge... Well this guy didn't.. thank god.. theres a provincial park just outside of town here I go to often to get the shots. Some reason they seem to let me get closer to them then most.. i always wear dark colors and move very slow. i mean slow.. like takes me about 2 minuntes to raise my camera to my face and about 5 minuntes to move 5 feet. haha :) well worth it thou.
