Living near one of the most popular air bases in Canada I have been able to get some excellent shots of these C-130 Herc's taking off and in mid flight.

And if I load the original file in photoshop and zoom in.. I can see one of the pilots looking down at me. And funny thing.. He now owns a copy of this print..

Focal Length: 200mm
ISO: 400

I think the crop is too tight, its a good shot but maybe some room in front of the place would have been good. Another thing is I always like when people drag the shutter a tad when shooting this type of stuff, it gives the nice motion blur on the blades.

P.S. I would make your watermark a little transparent. Its a bit overwhelming the way it is.

well problem there is.. I only cropped a sliver off of the top and bottom. thats how close I am to the auctual plane. I was about 500 feet from the end of the runway.
But I do have some new shots that i didn't zoom in so close.

Seen one, but it was too high up and the weather was crappy. I always keep a eye out for the plans when ever i head in that way towards the base. They are always practiscing alot of "Touch & Go" so sitting there for 30 min you can usly see it coming and going about 6-8 times

Shooting against the sky like that, a dark camouflaged airplane, you've done well. Detail throughout, it's sharp... You've stopped the props, though. When I shoot aviation (which used to be my primary photographic mode) I keep the shutter speed at about 1/125-1/160 to blur the prop. A propeller aircraft looks funny hanging there in the air with the props stopped.

Especially with the wires from the tail like that. Looks like a model! ^_^
