This is my all time favorite animal to shoot. And no not with a gun.. With my camera.. Cause sometimes it comes easy and other times it can be a real challenge.
Hoping to capture more great shots this winter.
Focal Length: 200mm (Uncroped photo - only about 30 feet away)
ISO: 400

Excellent shot, I am surprised it let you that close to it, being pregnant and all. Good DOF and exposure!

In the right location, you can get pretty close. At our cottage, as long as we keep walking calmly, they don't even get off the road to let us by (even with our Great Dane walking along with us). On those rare occasions that this happens I don't try to photograph them and spoil the moment.

Well these ones are used to people being in the area. They are in a small Provincial Park, I move very slow and I almost think a few of them remember me cause I have been able to get closer and closer. A few I have been with in 20 feet of them. I will follow them around and track them through the woods to get the shots. Some of them I come across in a open field, i will purposly make a noise for them to take off running. I have some awsome shots of them in mid air with legs spread wide in the middle of a bound. And its beautiful to see them do that too. They have alot of grace when then are bounding, and they are so quiet at the same time.

Thanx. Its one of my fav shots. Sold a few prints of it, and I also use it for one of the prints for my greeting card line.
