This is one of my favorite shots I've taken. It's of my wife's stepdad. C&C welcome.

Hopefully you used the 70-200 for this one, I'd hate to have someone stand close to me with a camera. :)

The sharpness suggests the 70-200 f/4L but the DOF tells me that you probably used your 50mm f/1.8

So for my final answer I'm going to say you used your 50mm f/1.8 for a million dollars!?!!!!

50mm FTW!!! Yeah I used the 50, I didn't have the 70-200 at the time and I was experimenting with the 50

 Sweet I'm the man :D

But yeah I like the shot, it's great.

The only negative thing I have to say is that the one side of his face that is on the border is alittle bright. But who cares it's not even really noticeable because it's along the side of the pic.

Oh also the reflection in his eye. Some might not like it, but I have no problem with it especially since you cant make out what it is a reflection of. Also if it was a major concern the reflection could be easily removed. :)

Keep up the good shooting!

I like this shot, and the title does it perfect justice. I also like the fact that you can not see his mouth but still get the impression of a smile or smurk.

Thanks. I guess I could have burned in that side of his face, didn't even think about that, good catch. As for the reflection, I'm not that good in PS yet so that would take some doing for me LOL

Yeah, I really liked this shot of him cause to me it told a lot about him with just a portion of his face.

patrific

Its a very cool picture. The texture, color and composure make it special. The composure adds mystery and allows the viewer to imagine about the subject. I think when we allow for that to happen we make more interesting pictures. Very nice.
