I am not a video game kind of guy, but there are some people who would kill for less (http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=43737). In Philly people were lined up around the corner the NIGHT BEFORE it went on sale. There had to be like 30 people in the line at six oclock at night, and the store didn't open until midnight. Then I heard there was accidents like people getting trambled when the doors of the stores open. If that wasn't bad enough people are getting beat up and stuck up.

Well this is rediculous, I mean come on people, doesn't this defeat the purpose of Christmas? Does you whining brat REALLY need a toy that bad that you would step on a guy who just busted his head on the ground for it? I watched Christmas go down hill FAST in the last ten years. It is very commercialized and materialistic anymore. Ok, My rant is over.

Think that is bad, there is one for sale on E-Bay that was is up to 15,100.00 and that isn't a TYPO. It is the 60GB Premium Edition, but still, 15K for a damn video game system???

Talk about crazy.

I checked them out on ebay and didn't see that one. But seena bunch for 1,300 up to 2,500 and a buddy of mine got his hands on one and is selling it for 1500..

But yes its rediculous how people are acting for this stuff. the manufacters are doing it on purpose to get people drawn in and want it. But personally I think they should also be held responsible for causing riots. I know when the Xbox 360 came out in my area that most of the stores in the area only had 30 to release.. 30!! so in a town of about 25,000 people.. there are maybe 4 stores carrying it.. thats aprox 120 gaming consoles to a local population of 25,000!!! thats just not right.

As for the store. I think they should have to cops there before the doors even open, and only let the cops know how many consoles there is and to only let those first few people in. as long as the store limits the quantity to 1 console per person..

Anyways thats my little rant on this stuff.

Yes I love playing the 360 when i go to my brothers or a friends place.. But its a waste of money for me. got better things to do with my time.. like shoot photos!

My last console i bought.. was the original Nintendo and when it came out there was nothing like there was today in the way of people swarming to get their hands on it.!! and the one I owned before that.. the Original Atari.. and that was back in like 1986 which my parents bought for me and my brother..

its all a big Corprate Scandal and its all about the money. probly only costs them like $100 to build the system..

My local Wally World had 2, yes 2, and there were at least a hundred people in line. Talk about stupid.

I've decided that I'm waiting until next year or maybe longer when the price goes down, people aren't trying to kill each other for it, and all the bugs are worked out of the system lol then i'll take my PS2 that i hardly play and trade it in for a new shiny PS3 ^_^yay lol i played it... it's a lot of fun, but i don't really see much of a difference... i mean yeah everything is super sharp, but i think they made it to the point where it is toooooo sharp. i mean it looks like the images could cut through the glass of your HD TV o.O lol

My friend waited at the local 24 hour walmart and paid 4 friends $200 each to wait with him.

Why you may be asking?

Put all this on his credit card........

BUT WHY????????

PS3 = $600
paying 4 friends to wait in line so you can use them to buy more playstations = $800
Games = ??
Controllers = ??

Total cost = $3800 + cost of games and controllers

Going rate at teh time for one playstation 3 on ebay.....

I don't understand what the big deal is. It bothers me how people are spending more time in line buying things for the family than being with family during the holidays.
Good for business though.

As much as I like video games, I refuse to camp out a day or even days prior to a video console release to get it. I am going to wait until the price drops at least $100 before I even purchase it. Plus, there are some good deals going on for XBox 360 right now.

You know, I remember the 360 drama where they were selling for literally thousands of dollars on ebay, and I can't believe that didn't even cross my mind when walking past the hundreds in line and thinking "pft....stupid". Now I'm kicking myself. I could have made thousands of dollars. Uh...yeah, I'd camp out for a day for $2k. I could have at least gotten in line and been like a buddy of mine did at my local wal mart.

Ok, he was standing in line. 3rd in line. It's cold as hell outside, and he's about ready to just give up and walk away. Then it strikes him. He gets this devilish look on his face, throws his hands up and says "ALRIGHT- $700 GETS MY PLACE IN LINE! WHO WANTS TO BE THIRD IN THE STORE?!"

I'll be gosh darned if someone didn't whip out the cash.

That was just INSANE. I just picked up the Pro XBOX 360 system for $299. See what happens when you wait...

That's still too rich for my blood. The most I'll pay for any system is $200. Even that is a rip off because I never play video games, I have my PS2 and I think i've maybe used it a total of 50 times.

I certainly agree. I'm not a big gamer myself, but when I saw the price of the XBOX 360 for $299, I couldn't resist. Plus, with Winter upon us (and we're supposed to get a snowy winter), I need something to occupy my attention when I can't get out of the house.

Now I have a PS2 sitting in room that's not going to be played anymore (along with 10+ games I own).
