This is my friends mustang. Lit a 3 minute long sparkler and traced out the car. Six takes later, and this was the shot.

Wow, its amazing you traced it perfectly. Before I read it I was thinking this was done with some photoshop filter or something. COOL!

That is SOOOOO badass....what a fun rendition. Perhaps one of the first special effects we attempt with our first cameras, the light trails, but this is such a remarkable job! I think it's awsome a photographer takes the time to achieve such fun and wild prints...you can see the true joy of the craft here.

What is the exposure and shutter data on the picture?

What is the exposure and shutter data on the picture?

Shutter was on bulb with the Nikon remote trigger. It ended up being 111 seconds (just shy of 2 minutes).
ISO was 100
Aperture f11

If anyone is attempting a shot like this, keep in mind that they burn at as high a temperature as 1800 degrees celsius (3000 Fahrenheit). Be careful not to touch the car, or you will burn the paint. I used my fingers to raise the sparkler about an inch above where I was 'painting', and guided all the lines of the car.
