I actually have a couple computers.

1) I have a self built desktop with Dell 22" monitor.
2) Dell Optiplex 7200
3) BRAND NEW PRIDE AND JOY!!! DELL INSPIRON E1705 Laptop
Specs here http://www.sukistyle.com/im_stupid.jpg

I have the best display, video card, Processor that dell offers for this computer, also I'm maxed out with ram at 2gb.

This is the size of my monitor so it might look reall huge on some of you guys computers with small monitors. Also this thing is super super super super fast!!!!!!!!! I never have to wait for anything!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a fullsize screen capture of what I see when I'm working on my photos.

I only have one Windows PC and it collects dust in the basement. Once a year we pull it out so that my wife can log in to her office network and use specialized review software. Someday I will get that running on one of my Macs.

PowerBook
iBook
Mac Mini

No big monitors yet, just a couple of 17s but if I get serious about photography I will be investing in a Quad core Mac Pro with a 30" display.

I have a couple PC's but they are all self built about a year ago. I have nothing to brag about! :(

Adaptive, can you post that photo your editing in the screenshot? I wouldn't mind seeing it done.

It's in one of the threads in G&N. Photoshoot at a bar, or something like that.

I have a Gen5 XPS (before the rash of "a cheap plastic xps for everyone"). 3.0GHz dual core, 4gigs of ram, 1.6TB HD, ATI Radeon 8500GT 256 video card, running a 19" Eizo. (my editing hog)

Then I've got a Dell 5100 with a 3.0GHz w/ HT, 2 gigs of ram, 250GB HD, Radeon X600SE Hyper Memory 256 video card, running a Samsung 204B 20" (darn fine monitor for $350).

I really wish I could learn to use a Mac, they are pretty sweet, oh and I've seen the mac 30" display before (i think). That thing is huuuuuuuuuge! Is that the one with the computer built into the screen? That's what my friend (the owner of this amazingly huge display) told me, maybe he was pulling my leg though. :D

That particular photo was not included in his set. :)

My self built is still under construction, I need some more parts before I can turn it on. I'm building it up to be a powerhouse!

Yea I will post that photo in the glamour section under the other pics from that shoot but personally I don't really care for this shot.

Yes same girl, different picture

Dam the Gen5 XPS is no joke, If I was ever going to buy a desktop computer I would definately get a XPS. Wow your computer sounds like a beast!!! I can't even imagine how awesome it must be!!!!!

I really like XPS for laptops also but you could basically build the same thing with a lower model machine and save a ton of money so that's what I did with my laptop.

No the 30" is just a screen. The iMac, which is the all-in-one, goes up to 24" which is nice but that 30" is something else.

As for learning Mac, it's practically a no-brainer. There are some basic differences in the way the OS works but as for the software, the Mac is where it all began. I remember using Photoshop when it was first introduced and everything else was just pushing big square pixels.

And now with the Intel processors, I can run either Mac OS or Windows as needed. No need to choose.

Yea I guess maybe he has the 24" iMac. Even for 24 inches that thing is gigantic!

The first version I touched was version 5. The first time I started getting serious with photoshop was CS.

Wow really you can run mac os or windows? That is awesome!

I play UT2K4.

Not as much as I would like to. But I do like to play. Lately I have been bitten by the shutterbug.
