Let me set the story up here...

Today I was driving down Route 38 in New Jersey. I had to get to a fellow co-workers house and really didn't know the way. So I kind of got lost for like 25 minutes and drove into a residential area to ask for directions. I came across some folks with the garage door opened and moving boxes and stuff. So I pulled over to ask for directions. These kind people were moving boxes because they had a garage sale and not a lot of people showed up to buy anything. They were going to give most of the stuff away to charity. I noticed out of the corner of my eye there was an old camera lying in an old box. I asked about it saying that I was a photographer. The nice man told me all about the pictures he took with it and how he could not bare to sell it (and that he hid it from his wife so she wouldnt sell it!). He went on to say he had some equipment that was newer that he wanted to sell. Anyway, to make a long story short, he pulled out a canon 35mm f/2 lens. I asked him what he wanted for it and he said, ahh, I havent used it in years, give me $10.

WOW, Something good happened to me, I got a lens for $10. I knew it was a prime so it couldnt be that bad. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this lens. I did some research and it looks like a decent lens, I can't wait to go home, clean it up and shoot somebody! (ohh that didnt sound good!)

Oh my good god. A $200 lens for 10 bucks. You know something else? I've seen a couple reports say that at a certain aperture, my 35mm f/1.4L actually trails it in sharpness! It's a noisy little cuss, but sharp as sin, and small as any other lens in the lineup. (by Canon)

Man...I'm insanely jealous. Oh wow...I'm absolutely chartreuse.

Oh and by the way...if you find you don't like it much, I'll buy it from you, assuming it's in good working condition. Keep me in mind. :)

I am a big fan of the 35mm F2, I actually opted for the 24mm F2.8 as it is wider and works better on a 1.6 crop.

Both lenses are very sharp and have character! 10$ is an amazing price.. you will love it.
