because I'm ready to quit my current job... i work all day doing restorations and my boss treats me like I'm some stupid idiot that hasn't been doing restorations for a long time now, like i don't know what i'm doing o.O lol today he pissed me off because he promised a customer a 1 hour restoration for a picture that obviously was going to take longer than an hour and he didn't even ask me or tell me anything about it needing to be done in an hour as i was already trying to get a bunch of other restoration orders done. u see I'm not usually the one to complain, i just come in and do my work and go home but there is nothing i can ever seen to do to please this man. i mean there hasn't been one unsatisfied customer from a restoration i did and you think he would be happy, but no. meanwhile, the other guy that does restorations always get people that aren't happy with the work and/or I'll have to go back a retouch **** he didn't do that i notice be4 i print, thank god because I'll have to hear it twice as much, and he doesn't give him **** at all... so i don't get it. i mean i mess up every once in awhile but not as much as this guy. anyways, after that rant i doubt any of you would want to hire me lol but i would love to work in a studio or for a photographer as an assistant until i learn more and develop my skill... o.O

Hey Studio, I have seen your work and it is very good. I think that you should now focus on using language that an employer would want to hear. I was in management for a long time and if I seen someone speaking like this in work or out, I would have to think twice about hiring them. Not to mention your grammar, which I am not the best with myself. :)
I appologize if that sounded mean spirited, it was not meant to be.

I have to say I agree with John. Also we should probably try to keep language and grammar on this forum as professional as possible.
Did you try looking at classifieds in the area? Also I have a friend who swears by craiglist for this sort of thing. Good luck!

yeah i know, this wasn't really the best way to go about saying, "hey I'm looking for a job." lol but i was pretty angry when i wrote this. i pay more attention to my grammar when i am speaking to an employer.

Studio,
JohnQ gave some of the BEST advice ever. You can be only mediocre at best in your photography, but professional demanor and presentation will get you the job. There is a level of professional appearance and demeanor involved in studios, commercial work and in photography in general.
I have an assistant now that is on very short terms due to their inability to maintain the professional appearance I prefer in my studio. (Very poor personal hygeine and doesn't dress appropriately.) Only reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet, I can't find anyone that knows as much and is presentable.

oh trust me, i know these things. i know how to present myself in a professional manner... i didn't want everyone to take me as some hot-headed, loud-mouth... trust me, if u met me you would think differently. like i said before, i was pretty angry when i posted that and i should of put more thought into what i was saying, but my frustration had been building up for a long time now with that place and when i needed an outlet, so i used this forum. although, it wasn't the best idea to mix it with, "I'm looking for a new job, help me out" bit, and that was my mistake.
every job I've had in the past, my managers has always loved my work ethic. oh and TX i know what you mean about your assistant with the hygiene. I had a guy that worked for me at an old job who put me in the same situation; however, i didn't have the power to pull the plug.
