I need a Canon 580 ex Speedlight

I see that Canon came out with the 580ex "II", which is 500 bucks. Man that's so expensive. If anyone has or knows where to get a plain ol' 580ex I'd love to know. I got one in December for 380 bucks from Amazon. I need 2 for school, though, and I can't imagine putting 500 more dollars on my CC for one flash! Jeez.

Does it have to be a 580? I have been seeing a lot of 550s for sale and the price is dropping fast!

If I were gonna spend $400 on a regular 580, I'd spend 500 on a II. 100 bucks is a lot sometimes, though.

Does B&H not still have the regular ones? Should be about $380.

the regular ones have been wiped off the planet. where i can find them, they're pver 400 and sometimes as much as the 580 II?! i dont know. i found one in florida, though. for too much money, i think, concidering i got one in december for 380.
