    17-85 as a portrait lens?

little bit of photoshoping. I did not clone out the arm on the right side. what are your thoughts?

  2. Is this the crop of an original or is this the whole photo?

By looking at that pic I would say that the lens is pretty sharp. I do not know though I've never used this lens.

    L Lens Travel Kit = 70-200 f/2.8L IS · 24-70 f/2.8L · 16-35 f/2.8L
    Non-L Primes = 15mm Fisheye · 50 f/1.4 · 85 f/1.8 · 100mm Macro

  3. Looks like it works to me! Nice and sharp.

  4. What camera are you using this lens on?

On a camera with a crop factor (20d, rebel, etc.) the top end of this focal length would be great for portraits. Traditionally anything 50mm or over is good for portraiture, this lens is like a 25-100 (ESTIMATING, TO TIRED TO DO MATH) on a camera with a crop factor. I often use my 24-70mm.
