Can anyone recommend a good tripod that doesn't cost $200??

Going to be hard to find a tripod/head combination that is under 200.00 I think that the ones we use run close to 300.00 each, including the head. The head you chose to put on the tripod will have a large part in the price.
Depends on how often and hard you will use your tripod as to what you get.
There are some pretty cheap lightweight tripods out there, but I don't know that I would put my camera on them. Another alternative is to look at used.

Yeah, I think that's where I'll have to go. I've looked at them on eBay and stuff and they're still up there but it seems that they hold up pretty well if you get a good one.
A good tripod is worth the investment. It could decide the the fate of your camera and/or your shots..

Yeah, I've already had too many good photos ruined because of a crappy tripod.
Check out Dynatran by adorama. Cheap, but sturdy.
