Small Camera Bag

I have two camera bags at the moment, both are great for their purposes. BUT, I am looking for a SUPER small bag that will hold my body with a lens attached and thats all. Something I can carry all the time and not look like a lost hiker.

Something protective would be nice... Any ideas?

Not too terribly small, but smaller than your average shoulder bag, I use the Kata H-14. It's a sling/holster bag, and will fit your 20D with 24-70L on with the hood in the shooting position just right. I mean a *perfect* fit. You can also fit your flash in the side zip part, and a couple batteries or what not in the other. I find it to be a nice size. If you're looking for super small, maybe a 5million dollar home. Won't be nearly as protective, though. The kata has the same materials as Israeli special forces body armor.

Crumplers look good and are fun, but not all too protective. They're about as safe as a woman putting it in her pocketbook. Minimal padding.

Yea they wont help much if you drop the bag but not many bags will protect a camera in that situation unless you want something big and bulky like my Tamron Expedition 7. But yeah the crumpler bags are great for protection for simple things like bumping them into walls, chairs, vehicles or whatever. Also they're lightweight, they look good and they're fun. And he woudlnt look like a lost tourist and he definately woudlnt look like a hiker with a crumpler.




My bag (Tamron Expedition 7) is like a tank!!! Alittle bulky and ackward at first but after I used it for a while I quickly got use to it. I could probably punt this bag and all my gear would still be safe!!!!!!


Yes crumpler bags are fun and lightweight, that's their purpose. And they're not too expensive but they're not cheap either. Actually the padding in most crumpler bags is pretty great. Sometimes Circuit City carries cheapo crumpler bags. You should look at the descriptions of the bags not just the cool pics.

I can drop my Kata without blinking. Love that thing. Hell, the "L" quality alone would protect my lenses against bumps, drops, etc., but any ol' bag over them keeps them cosmetically minty as well.

Have you looked at the Tamrac Velocity Series bags? They are small and work sling like over te shoulder. I have one that I use when carrying a single body with only one lens on it. Has enough room for other misc. stuff too.

I have the tamrac expedition 5 and lowepro should bag, I am looking for something just to carry the camera (without grip) and a small lens (maybe the 50?) just so I have it with me all the time.

20D and a 50? That's it? No accessories or anything? If that's the case, snag a 4 million dollar home. It fit my 30D and 35L just snug, so with a 50 1.4, there should be a bit of extra room.
