Thread: Canon is more fun...

  1. Canon is more fun...

... when you get to play with all of their stuff lol

last night i went to go see a guest speaker at my school, Joyce Tenneson (awesome photographer btw, if you don't know her u should), and Canon was there with their entire new product line ^_^ all the L lenses, the 40D, the EOS 1D Mark III, everything they were there because of Joyce... but anyways i got to play with all of their crazy lenses and their new cameras... dude the new LCD's are just too F'ing big lol i mean they should just install TV's to the back of these things lol it was loads of fun... i got to shoot with lenses i will never be able to afford yay good times. The guy from canon told me their new Live View feature is actually a POS... there are a lot of problems with it at the moment and I'm pretty sure canon will fix them soon but... it makes the chip over heat really fast and can fry the camera since your shutter is pretty much open the while in this mode; however, i was also able to physically see the benefits of having a feature like that though. i found out a bunch of other awesome new things of what's to come, so i'm really excited to see what canon does next. anyways enough with my lil' rant about canon... i was just really excited and had to tell everyone lol.

  2. So what other inside info did you get?

BTW, Is live view something you can turn off on the camera? I personally think it is a step backwards, I dont know why people would want that on an SLR.
    Canon 5d · 17-40mm f4L · 24-70mm 2.8L · 70-200mm f4L · 50mm f1.8 II · 35mm f2 · 550 ex

  3. oh i just found out that their new EOS 1Ds Mark III comes out next month i believe... it's 21mp of pure madness O.O lol and just information about how they integrated their L lenses for digital like how they corrected it since all-in-all those lenses were meant for film cameras... i mean all stuff you can probably read about but it was kinda fun talking to the canon ppl about it.

the live view feature is something you can turn on n' off... it doesn't turn on with the camera and it wasn't designed to be like the powershot cameras. the idea behind it was to double check your focus and it's meant for when your camera is sitting on a tripod, hooked up to a computer during a shoot... you can do the whole shoot via laptop or desktop... pretty cool stuff. umm some other things but we both agreed it isn't our most favorite feature... i mean when you think about it, all it is, is a copy of what Olympus is and was already doing lol
