good use of a broken lens

i know i've show photos of my broken lens but here are some new ones... this past weekend i chilled with Pete, his girl, and one of his friend in philly and we were just messin' around with photo equipment and whatnot... so here is a shot of his girl's eye cropped in at different points.







i shot this at f/8 and with this lens f/8 gives you very shallow DOF but at f/16 and up everything is razor sharp... but the more open i go i start to get this spiral effect which can be cool. anyways... just thought i'd share ^_^ and remember this is a broken lens i transformed into a macro.

i could crop in more but got lazy. this is all stra8 out of the camera... i didn't touch a thing in photoshop.

i didn't shoot the whole face :-( the first picture is full frame ;-) that's the bad part about that lens... i can only shoot really close up so i can't back up to shoot her entire face :-/ i mean i could of took the attachment off lol

well it looks like a gaussian blur. if you end up hating it i'll take it to shoot bugs or something hehe

yeah it definitely has a gaussian blur effect.

lol it's a pretty ghetto rig i made. it's the front part of a 50mm lens taped to a broken filter that screws onto my 35-80mm lol are you sure you would want that. lol
