    Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG

Just a quick mention, to save someone my hassle. I got this backpack as a christmas gift from my boyfriend last year. A kind gift, of course, but it had flaws which neither of us knew about.

One of the main zippers broke off quickly. It was a dual zipper system so I was annoyed but it still functioned, I'd just zip all the way to the edge.

The inserts inside are flimsy, the lining that is made for the velcro of the inserts to stick to rips of pretty much instantly.

I had a cell phone in a side pocket in a cab, and it just crawled its way out after only having it, and my new phone service, for a month.

    can't really fit a laptop.

On a day that I had a TF shoot I missed my bus so I walked my heaviest lens home before walking to the subway (1.5 miles), thank goodness, because when I arrived on my location with only canon 20d, 1 speedlight, 150mm lens, and one light 10-22 sigma lens, my bag burst open as I was walking and my lovely gear began to fly out. I was on a sidewalk, I felt weight shift, and like superman, threw my arm behind me, and shoved the flap closed. Only a speedlight fell out (only! 500 bucks!) it was a little mangled, but seemed to survive. If I had my heavy lens, that I had decided to bring home (24-70 2.8 canon), I'd be out of 1200 bucks, because it's like a lead brick.

So the zipper just.. detatched.. no warning, not a full bag.. just a flaw. I looked it up online afterwards (the day I also lose the PHONE!)

and you can see on this site :

    it may be cheap,
    but it's not worth it.

    Buyer beware.

Canon basically told me to F myself.

  2. Try the Tamrac Adventurer 9

It's about $140 but as i'm sure you know by now.
A good bag is a worthwhile and smart investment.

It also comes in a dark/navy blue color which is the one I have.
And it easily fits my Dell E1705 17" laptop.
    Canon 1D Mark III -- Canon 5D
    L Lens Travel Kit = 70-200 f/2.8L IS · 24-70 f/2.8L · 16-35 f/2.8L
    Non-L Primes = 15mm Fisheye · 50 f/1.4 · 85 f/1.8 · 100mm Macro
Alienbees lights (6) + Ringlight + Vagabond II
    Nikon SB28 (3) · Nikon SB80DX (1) · Canon 580EX (2) · Pocket Wizards (7)

  3. Lowepro Mini Trekker and full size trekker are the bee's knees. I've used a mini trekker and fit a 300 2.8D, 80-200 2.8D, 20mm 2.8D, 35-70 2.8D and 2 full sized Nikon Film bodies, plus filters and batteries, fits in overhead, same bag for at least 10 years through at least 4 continents in all kinds of weather and abuse, zippers work like the day I bought it, most reliable, sturdy and convenient bag I've ever used and abused.
