New name for Focus Faction? **PLEASE READ I NEED YOUR INPUT!**

Ok folks, I have had quite a few people in the past tell me that the word "Faction" can be misinterpreted to mean something negative. I did not think of it that way, the way I saw it was Focus Faction, meant a group of people talking about focusing (loose but meaning photography or the act of focusing).

What are your thoughts? Do you think it is negative? Do you think we should re-name the group?

I like the groups name. No matter what the name there will always be someone out there who will distort the meaning. Stand up for your choice, and i shall stand beside you.

but i think it goes well

Focus = like to focus a camera, or to think about a certain thing
Faction = a group of people connected by a shared belief or opinion within a larger group

it's not like the name is focus fascism
With a name like that i could see some cause for concern.

I agree with everybody so far, The name is actually really cool and peaked my interest when I first joined. I never thought of anything negative, not at all. Actually this is the most positive forum I have ever visited.

I like the name Focus Faction, it is actually one the reasons I picked this site to come to.

There are a lot dumber names for photography forums.....
