from the radio of these hip folks scooter...

  2. What a great photo man! This is a story telling photo, and I love when I see something in different cultures that I am not used to seeing. Thanks for sharing!

  3. vietnam, philippines? how old is this poto?
Good use of sepia, could have been taken 10 years ago or 10 days ago and I wouldn't know the difference because I'm not from that area and don't know the culture.

What's that big thing in the background?
Looks like a parachute or hot air balloon, more practically maybe an umbrella or flag?
Whatever it is, it seems to be flying

  4. China, rural Xi'an, perhaps 2001. shot with an N90s, probably Ilford 400asa. Berg Brown toner, 8x10 print scanned in a flatbed. The object is a balloon, there was a celebration at an archeological site, small terra cotta statues uncovered, somewhat similar to the Terra Cotta Warriors, but only about a foot and a half tall. I was shooting in rural areas and happened upon it accidentally. literally thousands of Locals gathered. High ranking members of the party were speaking, and the mayor of Xi'an...and since I had my photo vest on, I was ushered right to the front of the podium (Chinese LOVE to pat their backs and show off their "good deeds") yet I noticed some of the very poor locals were kept from the inside display, so as not to shed any bad light.
