  1. Old Time Speedster

    Attachment 1267

Assignment. Had a 20 minute window to capture the image the company was after, was relegated to the patio and starting late, subject, normally known for his speed, was a bit slow in arriving. morning light, November, not overpowering but enough to cause him to squint, despite 3 rolls of Provia and previous request to "NOT ****ing squint!"
bottom line, company was happy, I was not...but the paycheck always makes you happier, I suppose.

I wouldn't have known who it was if I did not read his name tag. I supposed it doesn't matter the photo came out great. I understand it did not turn out to be exactly what you expected but you should be happy with it.

  3. I am, somewhat, the polarizer worked to keep the sky and other colours rich, but that damn squinting! You know how that goes, we all, as photographers do, we're all very critical of our own work. But, hopefully, that's what helps us to improve.

  4. lol. He always squints, isn't that his trademark?

I think your photo captures him well. The light/shadow contrast on the chimney in the background tells the story, that's a pretty tough shot.

  5. Too bad you didn't get to pick the location.
This shot says nothing about speed or racing.

  6. The company that hired me had sold him the roof tiles for his home, hence the location. It was for an advertisement for their roofing products. It was at his home in Nazareth, PA.
