Has anyone used a Brushhawk? Shoulder mount shooting system they say it is as good as a tri pod or close.

I use one mostly for birds in flight and love it. I shoot a D3 and a D300 w/grip. Either camera and a 300mm f/4 AF-S make a great combo on this platform. I would advise getting the additional forward grip and the QC mount as a kit when ordering. I have tried using mine striped down and just don't get the same steady results. Also get used to the sholder strap and adjust and use it as you would a rifle sling with it tight across your off-hand elbow as extra stabilization. As far as it being as steady as a tripod, it's not. However, it is a vast improvment over hand held. It shines while panning as in motor sports, at the horse track and running/flying wildlife.
    I hope this helped.
