First real venture into sports photography looking for some useful tips on ways to get a tighter shot. The biggest question I have is how to determine the TV to freeze or show just a hint of blur ot show movement? Or is this a matter of shooting enough events to get a basic idea of what you are after.

  2. Well just like I have been told 10,000 time before, take 100 photos you get 1 and you never show your trash bin. 1&2 are great you show the power and movement very well as your timing shows. even though in 1 the movement is very slight you can still feel it w/ his leg in the air. # 2 is you best shot to me you have you movement, power and great face if this is cropped take it out some for the room of the black gents heal and the white gents toes if not then play with the crop. #3 You can still see that slight movement in the back arms on this shot but it is lacking. No power shown no great move not even a facial of note on her.

Movement can be a tough call some like it some dont. I like silky waterfalls my wife likes static. The movement you have shown here I like and I dont think it should be any slower but a nice static of raw power can be very nice ether shot w/ 2 cameras or shot a set of blur then static. Cause you never know what you will get till it hits the bigger screen

I agree I like the first two, the last doesnt really do anything for me. The color looks a little off on the first two as well. Not a big deal, nice and sharp.
