Focus Faction Photography Contest

We used to have Monthly Photography contests with great prizes. We would like to get an idea of how many people would be interested in having these contests again? We have $100 for the prize kitty, so please let us know your thoughts on holding a monthly FF photo contest.

So here is the info we need from you, our FF family.

1) Would you be interested in entering a photo contest here at FF? Its free to registered members.

2) What would you like to see as a prize? Do you prefer cash or some photography related gear?

I think a contest is a great idea. I used to be in a forum where we did them all the time. It's fun if you don't put too much stock in the results.

As for a prize, my first thought was cash but I think I may be more motivated to enroll if there was something I really wanted at stake; like a great tripod, light meter, strobe, etc...

I think it is a good idea. Well if it is done every month then I would say the cash. If we are talking a gift like Fibonacci has said then we (well you) would have to look at the budget at what would work, cause I do not need another $50 tripod, and not all things work with all cameras like flashes. Also if this is done is it going to be just a open show or some special topic. (Macro, nature, whatever if so I think no nudes cause not eveyone can do them (Like me ) cause I would have to be my own model (No one whats that). Just my thought.

I agree that cash is the best alternative. As for an open show or special topic I would go with the topic, as long as the subject is random i.e. landscapes one month, portrait the next and etc. this should give everyone an opportunity to enter in something that interests them.

Contest are a great idea they help individules become part of the group. Prizes sometime do not matter what matters is the coming together.

Admin see my 2nd post on Double Exposure."Now if you want here is a challenge for anyone. See if you can do a old old school Double Exposure buy shooting low light w/ your B setting for time a lens cap to mask and then move your subject. Wonder who would be up for that. This could be the "First Skilled Challenge" for the gift or cash thing they have been talking about."
