  2. Nice shot. I don't think it is your best. I don't think it is your work but the cloud. It is very big yet very plain and flat. It also cuts right in the 2nd 3rd so it is dead center. The mountain peak to the right is good in the 1st 3rd but get alittle heavy in the 3rd 3rd with the snow bank and the bottom? of the fall. I can almost bet when you saw this you went "OH MY GOD" and after you got it home you went "oh my god" and you sometimes wonder are you missing something in the way you are looking at the photo.
I think it is a great moment in time for a photo but not the best time you could have been there. I understand you don't alway have all the time for just the right light, clouds and every gear to line up so much easier for MR. Adams cause he did not have a wife calling him to get milk on the cell phone

These images have many things going for them yet the overall effect is somewhat flat and unimpressive. My own personal opinion is that it was the light that was not cooperating with you. That is often the case with landscape photography; you have to have the patience of Job to wait for the right combination of light and atmospheric conditions for that perfect image.

Once some climatologists at a major university studied one of Ansel Adams prints for clues to the exact time and atmospheric conditions when it was taken.(The image "Half Dome" if I am not mistaken.) They then decided on a day that would be closest to matching those conditions. On the given day more than 400 photographers showed up hoping to equal the master's famous shot. None came close. As Adams himself used to say, "Sometimes God puts you in just the right place at just the right time to get the shot."
