Thread: iPod for storage?

  1. iPod for storage?

Just wondering if anyone has used an iPod for photo storage? I have a friend who takes one all over the world with her to store travel photos on. Which is great if you use Mac. But I don't. I was reading the earlier discussion on portable storage and the recommendations for the Epson P-3000. Just thought I'd throw this idea out there.

  2. I have never used the ipod at all, for photos or for music. But I do believe it works on windows machines also. I just think you need to download itunes or some other proprietary software.

Actually you have to be really careful using it on a pc, initially it will show up as a drive and you can drag and drop files to it, but when iTunes takes over you have to be careful. And if you delete what you see on a PC you can kill your iPod.

I would recommend getting a dedicated device, either an external hard drive or a cardreader/drive unit like the Epson or an X-Drive.
