Upgrade camera body or no??

Right now I have two 30d's. I love the 30d's and they're great, never failed me. My only problem is that I'm seeing the value of these bodies rapidly fall to the floor!!!!


So I'm pretty sure that I could still get $1,000 for each body if I sold with 2 batteries and a memory card. After I sell each body I will have $2000.

Now my question is

Should I get a 5d or 1dmk2

Since I mostly do portrait stuff I'm kinda leaning towards the 5d, but I've heard alot of talk of a new 5d coming out in the spring, this will definately decrease the value of the 5d. The 5d can already be purchased new for $1849 after a $600 and $300 mail in rebate!!! So that's not a good sign, I have a feeling that in about 6 months the 5d will be down to $2000 without any rebates...

The 1dmk2 can be found for $2400 used, I've seen a few sell for alittle less than that... And the 1dmk2 has already had a successor the 1dmk2n and the cameras value is still hanging in there!!





Both are great cameras and both have their advantages but I just don't know which half of my heart I should follow.










I also have a rebel xt (black body) that I might sell if anyone's interested, I don't know what's a good price.. $450??

if you can afford it, i'd say for the best! the Mark II ;-) it's one heavy son of a b though lol especially with one of the giant L lens lol i got to mess around with this one photographer's Mark and i didn't want to give it back lol also the school photographer has the 8mp one and i get to mess with that too but he doesn't take care of his camera and it makes me sad

Either way I made some extra moneys this month, I'm wondering if I should get some more lights and a lightmeter or upgrade body.. or pay some bills... I hate making decisions...

I hate paying bills, so it would not be much of a decision for me!

Yea I ended up putting some money on the car bill I still have from a car I sold almost a year ago.



I'm going to have extra money in january also, maybe I'll treat myself this month.

hehe yeah, I went with my brain in december and put all my extra money towards my bills. I'm sure I'll have extra money this month and I'll probably end up buying some equipment. I found a decent basic lightmeter that should do me fine for a while and I've really been thinking about a 1d alot lately.... humm.... I donno

wow.. you ARE good! When you finally do get the stuff you want, it will feel that much better knowing that the bills are gone! (there's always new ones coming though)
