  3. I hate to be this rough......... nothing about this shot works well. It's not at all flattering. It's not mysterious. There is no clear subject. There is nothing that draws my attention.

    For a photograph to work you need

    1) a clear subject.
    2) you need to bring attention to that subject.
    3) you need to make sure nothing detracts from that subject. ie. No tree growing from heads

    For portriats...

    try to make a connection with the subject....... try to deliver an emotion.... a thought. That can be anything at all.......sexy, love.... happiness, joy..... hurt, pain...... intelligence, power, position, etc.
