What are some ways to smooth out skin and make it look less textured and more soft and pretty? I don't want to blur any of the image, just make skin look nicer.

Try using a Gaussian blur on a new layer, set the radius to about 35, then play with the blending modes and opacity percentages...using Adobe photoshop

The smudge tool is always good too, lower the strength for a smooth finish.
Weapon of choice: Nikon D70
Smudges and over-blurring suck. That's what I want to avoid. I found this, it's subtle certainly better then the over blurred gaussian I keep seeing people do.. Yuck.
